Get mellow with this mango smoothie
A few days ago, I stopped by the market to pick up a couple of essentials and, as often happens, I left with a few unexpected finds. Among them were some beautiful yellow mangos—too good to resist. Since the season isn’t in full swing yet, the mangos turned out a little too tart to enjoy on their own. But they were perfect for a smoothie—or even a lassi, the popular yogurt-based drink from Indian cuisine.
Mangos are truly a powerhouse fruit. Just one cup provides nearly 70% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) of Vitamin C, boosting not only your immune system but also improving iron absorption. They're also rich in copper, Vitamin B6, folate, and support gut health by aiding digestion. Bonus: mangos are fantastic for your skin!
A simple mango smoothie recipe to ease digestion.
While we could go on forever about the many benefits (and the irresistible flavor) of mangos, let's get straight to blending with this simple and delicious mango smoothie recipe:
Ingredients:

½ cup of fresh pineapple
1 banana
1 teaspoon of honey (optional, if you like it sweeter)
½ cup of kefir (add more if you prefer a thinner consistency)
1 scoop of protein powder (mine is Hi!)
Instructions:
Peel and chop the mangos, pineapple, and banana.
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust kefir to reach your desired texture.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
